“Hello” I’m Sebastian but friends and co workers call me Sebbie, I currently reside at the Cats Protection’s Birmingham Adoption Centre and would like to tell you a little about myself because I have been promoted from just the resident cat to the very important role of “the voice of the Birmingham Adoption Centre”. If I do say so myself I have the most amazing white coat with a cute pink button nose. My coat takes huge amounts of grooming to keep clean but I would say that I manage it rather well. This male grooming is an essential part of my daily routine, but these humans just do not appreciate the effort that I put into it. My boudoir is on a pedestal at the back of the Reception desk, it has wonderfully plush sheepskin bed which I love to suck as I fall to sleep. (Sleeping is one of my favourite past times).
These humans do moan, I only go into the grounds to do my security checks, come back to bed and they start, going on about muddy pawprints on their paperwork, huh they are so ungrateful. My time began in a secure pen at the Birmingham Adoption Centre but I am far too intelligent for that and decided to have a word with Susan Clarke the Centre Manager to let her know that this was not on. I am worth so much more, I have drive and ambition and intend to take over (which I have but the humans haven’t realised it yet) I am far too intelligent and, well to put it bluntly “nosey” to be shut away, so I gave the wonderful Manager and Cattery Assistants some grief and they finally agreed to let me patrol the grounds. I have now become the security cat for the centre.
After many months, this role became very mundane and I began looking for a new role within the centre. Again I had a quiet word with Susan Clarke and asked if I could arrange for me to let our supporters know all about the staff, cats and things that are happening at the centre. I had a ponder over the next few weeks and decided that this may be an interesting job as I do love a bit of gossip and I do see things that the staff think I haven’t. I have kept this information mainly to myself but now I can share these things with you.
When things occur I will let all you cat lovers out there know what is happening at the Centre and spread a little gossip between my readers. I will endeavour to educate all the cat owners on different topics, because my staff try their best but will never know as much as me, I will open a Questions and Answer session where by if you do have anything you would like to ask me you can Email me (as I now have allocated the Birmingham email address as my own) and I will try and guide you in the right direction.
Upcoming events will be in my list of things to tell you and I will let you know tales of the cats that have come into my care. Success stories, sad stories and interesting facts, they will all be here on my blog.
Please join me with any of your thoughts and ideas that may help me, my staff and cats alike.
Well that’s my introduction over; I would now like to introduce you to my staff.
I have 12 Cat Care Assistants, 2 Deputy Managers, a Grounds man and 2 Receptionists, all working under my supervision. I do however work alongside Susan the Centre Manager as I do feel we, as much as I hate to admit it, work very well together. The staff do get up to all sorts trying to raise awareness and funds for the cats in my care. Just recently Julie and Laura, two of my Cat Care Assistants, jumped from a plane. Now that’s what I call daft, but who am I to complain, they raised money for us all.
This is only an introduction of myself and my staff, but if you have anything that you would like me to cover then please let me know and I will sort it out.
I will write again soon with perhaps the tale of one of the cats in our care but first I must have a chat with some of them to find out which one has an interesting story as some do like to show off and make things up. The other thing that I will need to tell you is the date of our Valentines Shin Dig; I will let you know as soon as I have got the finer details. I am trying to arrange it so that it will be a fun day for everyone.
Thanks for reading and I will be back very soon, I’m exhausted now and must go for a nap. Night All.
Sebbie xxxxx
