Homevisit Volunteering

Volunteer Home Visitor

Canterbury and District Branch is recruiting people to help out with the important role of home visiting. This involves going out to visit people in their own homes to assess their suitability to adopt one of our cats. Full support is provided through our welfare and rehome officer, so you are never alone in the contribution you provide to us at Cats Protection.

To fulfil this role you need to have the following:

  • Have your own transport, although you will be paid a mileage allowance;
  • Be good with people, creating an open and relaxed atmosphere which helps generate honest and truthful responses from the potential adoptee;
  • To be a good judge of character;
  • To be able to complete our homing checklist accurately, and provide clear information to the welfare and rehome officer about the appropriateness of the potential home;
  • To have an ability to build a rapport up quickly with the potential adoptee whilst remaining detached
  • To have a love of cats and can give basic advice to new adopters of our cats and kittens

Particularly looking for Home Visitors for the Favershema, rural parts of Canterbury and Whitstable areas
