Below is some general advice to help find your missing cat or find the owner of any found cats.

Details required -

Your name, address, post code and phone number
Name of cat, date last seen and the address from where you lost the cat, if not from its own home
Colour with any distinguishing marks, male/female, neutered/entire, age, short/long hair, is he wearing a collar, is there ID attached, is it microchipped?

All of this information is very important so we can try to match up your cats details with those cats already on our register.

Look in-
Loft, cellars, cupboards, all rooms, sheds, garages, out-houses, green-houses, local halls, gardens and hedgerows. Make sure you look in all cupboards & drawers carefully in your home as cats like to hide.

Inform-
Cirencester, Tetbury and District Cats Protection. All local vets (ideally within a 20 mile radius), other local charities and welfare organisations. Notify local schools, milk/paper/post delivery people. Phone your local council and ask for Environmental Health Department.

Place adverts on Notice Boards in all Public places and Shop windows
-
We do not recommend advertising your cats name but suggest you include a photograph. Display in: Vets, Pet Shops, Newsagents, Hair Dressers, Fish & Chip Shops, Shops, Garages, Post Office, Library, Launderette and Health Centre. Put posters inside your car windows to notify people walking past your parked vehicle.

Posters in halls used by members of the public-
Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Playgroups, Youth Clubs, Bingo Halls, Social Clubs & Pubs.

Posters taped to telegraph and lamp posts-
NEAR Bus Stops, Phone Boxes and Letter Boxes and on your own front gate - if possible get these laminated to keep them dry.

Leaflet Drop-
Door to door in your area, ensure that EVERY household receives one, even those people you have spoken to.

Newspaper & Radio-
Contact your local Radio stations for Lost & Found appeals as well as all local for Lost & Found columns. Also don't forget your local community magazines that come out usually on a monthly basis.

Talk to People-
Lollipop Control, Traffic Warden, Road Sweeper and Police. Door-to-door sales people (Betterware, Kleeneze, Avon etc) Mobile Hair Dresser and Window Cleaner. People walking dogs, people shopping and parents with children on way to/from school.

PLEASE REMEMBER to tell us you have found your cat-
Will you please remember to notify us when you find your cat again. As this will save a lot of time and resources by our volunteers who will be trying to help you find your missing cat.
