Adopt a cat

Are you looking for a cat or a kitten? Some very lucky cats we have already homed this year are now enjoying  freedom and comfort in their new homes. However there are still many cats in need. What could be better than to give a loving home to a cat!!

As cats are the most adaptable of animals they should settle in quite easily but they might a few days to find their feet and work out your household routine. It's a well known fact that stroking a cat is therapuetic - so calming and comforting in this uncertain age. To be welcomed home by a cat is a wonderful feeling!!  This website is constantly updated so keep looking for your purrfect pet!! We'd love to hear from you!

So, how does it works........First, just call Vanessa on 0845 371 1851 - leave a message with your details, where you live, and what you're looking for, and she will get back to you as soon as possible! Please be patient when waiting for your call back - most of our volunteers also work full time, so phones can't be manned at all times - or just email Vanessa. New cats come in all the time, so please call or email even if you can't see what you're looking for on these pages. Then we will arrange for a home visit and on a successful outcome from this visit you can come and choose from the cats available.

We rely on the generosity of local people and ask you to consider the following when choosing your cat.

All Cats from the Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted Branch have been:

  • Vet Checked on Admission
  • Blood tested
  • Flea treated and Wormed
  • Microchipped
  • Vaccinated

Cats Protection asks adopters for a fee of £100 when rehoming a cat. If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard so thank you for your decision to rehome a CP cat!

If you are unable to have a cat for any reason then why not sponsor a cat pen.
