Adopt a cat

We try to complete the procedure below within 7 days & often it's a lot less.  We want our cats to go to their new homes quickly, just like you!

When you come to the adoption centre for the first time, you will fill in a short questionnaire telling us a bit about yourself & informing you of some of Cats Protections policies & procedures.

Where houses are rented we will need to see a tenancy agreement/letter from your landlord confirming a cat/kitten is allowed in the premises (this can be brought to us on your intial visit or presented at the homevisit).

One of our cat care assistants will then show you around.  This is the opportunity to ask  questions & find the perfect match for your family.

If you find a cat/kitten that you think will suit you, the cat care assistant will arrange an appointment for us to conduct a home visit, this is an informal chat in your own home.  You can then make another appointment to collect your cat/kitten.

Please note we ask that any cats/kittens are collected within 7 days of your home visit. This allows us to offer space to the other needy cats waiting to come into our care.

Bearing in mind the treatment all cats/kittens have received the Adoption Centre asks adopters for a fee of £60.00 when rehoming a cat. If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard so thank you for your decision to rehome a CP cat!

Appointments are not necessary for viewing, but are required for collection of your reserved cat & to bring cats in to us for rehoming.  Please contact the adoption centre if you have a cat you need to rehome, to discuss pen availability.

Please note the website has just a selection of the cats we have available.  Usually we would have in the region of 50 cats available at any one time.

Cats available for rehoming updated daily.

We do occasionally have kittens avaialble for rehoming at this time of year, although they do not appear on the website as they are homed very quickly. Please ring the adoption centre for details.
