What we do

We are a small group of volunteers involved in caring for and rehoming unwanted cats and kittens in the Falmouth & Helston district.  Our committee oversee all the branch activities involved in the care of the cats & kittens who are blood tested, immunised and neutered.  When rehoming kittens we issue a neutering voucher to be used at the appropriate time.   We arrange for any medical treatment that the new arrival may need prior to rehoming which in turn means our Vet bills are very large (despite the help given by our local vets).

Cats are looked after temporarily by one of our foster parents in an outside pen in their garden (supplied by us).   We do not have a cattery - if you would be interested in fostering, we would love to hear from you.  All food, litter and vets bills etc. are paid for by the branch.

When they are ready, we aim to rehome cats and kittens as soon as possible.  However, it is important to match the cat to the owner and we therefore carry out a home visit to check suitability.  This is done by our homing officer.

WE URGENTLY NEED ADDITIONAL FOSTERERS SO WE CAN HELP MORE CATS IN NEED - IF YOU THINK YOU MAY BE ABLE TO HELP IN THIS WAY PLEASE CONTACT US FOR AN INFORMAL CHAT OR FOR MORE DETAILS.

Fundraising - We rely totally on donations to help the felines in our care.  Recent events have been a collection day in Falmouth,  Porthleven lifeboat day, Penryn Town Fair and running stalls at local events.  It is also possible to sponsor one of our pens.

The Branch always welcomes new members that can help in any way.  If you feel you can help, please contact us on 0845 371 2729 (local rate) or catsfalmouthhelston@live.com.
