In the last 10 years we have helped thousands of cats and kittens to have a second chance. Each year we re-home over 100 cats and kittens and Neuter in the region of 400!.

We always have a selection of cats and kittens in our care looking for new homes. Before leaving our care, all cats over six months old are blood tested for FIV (feline Aids) and Leukaemia, are Neutered and Microchipped. Cats under six months are too young for blood tests and Neutering, but as with all our cats, have up to date vaccinations, are wormed, flea-treated and vet-checked.

Adopting a cat or kitten involves long-term commitment, as most cats will live for at least 15 years. Although we take every care to ensure that cats re-homed by us are in A1 condition the ageing process and regular check-ups will entail veterinary bills at some time. Therefore we would ask you to think carefully before adopting a cat or kitten.

As our cats have already had a bad start in life we like to do a prospective home check before we place each cat, to make sure we get the right cat in the right home. We want to make sure that everybody is happy with the arrangement.

As you will understand there is a great deal of expense involved in keeping up the work that we do with needy cats and we are totally dependent on our own fundraising (again undertaken by volunteers) and donations made by you, the public. Therefore Cats Protection asks adopters for a fee when rehoming a cat. If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received.

Without this fee we cannot help another cat that will be waiting to come into our care.

When you collect your new cat/kitten please remember how much it has cost us to care for it before you were kind enough to give it a loving home. We know times are hard and thank you for your decision to rehome a C.P. Cat.

If you think you could offer a loving and caring home to one of our cats then please telephone our homing officer on 01303 247540

If you home one of our lovely cats or kittens we would love to hear from you and feature your cat on our success stories page.  Email our web editor at folkestonecats@ntlworld.com with your pictures and story, we realy would love to hear from you.
