Black Cat Awareness Day was a massive success!
Black cats are often overlooked by would-be adopters and many of them remain in our care for longer than others. This is why we held Black Cat Awareness Day on 27 October.
Our social media campaign was such a success that we're still going through all the statistics! What we can tell you is that we received thousands of pictures of black cats on our Flickr, Facebook and Twitter pages as well as numerous messages of support.
Our mascot, Billy Noir-Mates, also had great reason to be cheerful; in just 24 hours, he gained over 1,600 fans on his Facebook page. Perhaps best of all from an awareness point of view, our hashtag #CPBlackCats ended up in the top ten trends on Twitter. At one point, it was the third most talked-about subject on Twitter among UK users.
This is all entirely thanks to your fantastic support. Thank you all so much for joining in our campaign. We could not have done it without you.
