Adoption information

Adopt a cat

Are you looking for a cat ?

Yes? then we would love to hear from you!
So, how does it work?

First, just call 0845 371 2736 and leave a message with your details, where you live, and what you are looking for, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.  ( please be patient when waiting for your call back - all our volunteers are part time and unpaid, so phones can't be manned at all times).

Someone from the branch will call you back, and talk to you about what you are looking for and what we have.

Then we will arrange for you to meet our cats and then following a successful home visit you can come and collect your new addition.

We do everything we can to ensure your cat has received the best standards of love and care while with us, of course, housing and food as well as veterinary treatment, neutering and microchipping have to be paid for.  That's why we ask all our adopters to pay a fee.  Unfortunately adoption fees do not cover all of these costs so please also consider making an additional donation, which will let us care for even more cats and kittens that desperately need our help.

All cats from the Great Amwell and District branch have been:

Vet checked on admission

Fled and wormed

Neutered ( if old enough )

Microchipped

Vaccinated

The above checks and treatments cost on average over £95 per cat.  This excludes food and boarding costs for the time the cat is in our care.  Any donations above our fee would help many more cats.

Cats Protection Cares

Cats protection never puts a cat to sleep just because it will take a long time to rehome, we will care for the cat until the right home can be found.
We have homed cats with diabetes and thyroid conditions, and cats that are considered over the hill at 16+.

We are proud to say that we don't give up on a cat, because it is scared of its own shadow on arrival, Instead we spend time helping it overcome its fears.

we care about all cats.

You could help even more cats....

£5   would pay for a cat's litter tray, scoop and dish

£15 would feed a cat for a whole month

£35  would equip a Cat Cabin with cat bed, scratching post and toys

£100  would cover all the veterinary care a cat should need, including neutering, vaccinations and microchipping and flea and worming.

£150  would pay for a special scanner so microchipped cats can be identified and returned to their rightful owners.

Making a donation today will make a real difference to the cats in our care.... Thank you for your support.
