What We Do

Formed in 1927, Cats Protection has grown to become the UK's leading feline welfare charity.

Cats Protection rehomes and reunites 55,500 cats and kittens every year, through our network of over 250 voluntary run branches and 29 adoption centres.

The North East Lincolnshire and District Branch is staffed completely by unpaid volunteers who undertake all aspects of the branches work in their spare time, fitting this commitment in around their own work and family commitments.

We cover the following postcodes - DN31, DN32, DN33, DN34, DN35, DN36, DN37, DN41, LN11, DN39, DN40, LN7, LN10, LN11, LN3, LN4, LN8, LN9.

We inform the public on the importance of having their cats neutered as well as providing additional information on what they can do to properly care for their cats at home.

We also work hard to rescue and rehome both cats and kittens. We are continuously searching for others to join our team to help us achieve these goals.

Rescue and Rehoming

We have 6 volunteer foster carers who care for our cats in the purpose built heated pens, We have 1 x double pen heated accomodation, 3 x treble pens and 1 x single pen.  We also have 1 indoor accomodation. The cats/kittens stay in our care until they find their forever home, which isn't normally long term.

Due to space restrictions, we currently have a waiting list in place for cats requiring our care.

It is Kinder to Neuter

Cats Protection champions neutering or spaying as the only effective way to reduce the number of unwanted cats in the UK.

We encourage neutering to be done as early as possible. This is to control the feline population by reducing unwanted litters as well as reducing the risk of fighting, straying, infections such as FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and cancers as well as reducing spraying and wailing.

Our recommended neutering age for your pet cat is four months.

Ensuring your cat has a safe and happy home life, enhancing your lifelong friendship.

Cats Protection helps neuter around 150,000 cats and kittens, including around 20,000 feral cats, every year.

Grimsby Branch paid for over 1000 neutering procedures in the Grimsby & District area last year!!!

For those needing financial assistance to neuter their cat(s), please contact the Branch. We are here to help.

Every cat deserves the health benefits that comes with Neutering, giving you both a peaceful and stress free life.
