It costs lots of money each day to keep a cat at one of our fosterers homes - in addition to all the basics such as food, litter, heating, we have to pay for all the medical bills, plus the flea treatments, blood tests when necessary, neutering and vaccinations, amongst other things! This is why we rely so heavily on the kindness and generosity of the local people! Do you shop online? If you do, there is a very easy way for you to raise money for the branch and it won't cost you a single penny!!!! If you register with the above website you will be able to nominate our branch - Cats Protection Hornchurch & District branch - to receive a small commission on everything you buy from a list of over 2,000 stores and organisations. These include Amazon, M&S, John Lewis, Sainsburys, Next and more! Please visit the site, it is very easy to register and each time you shop on-line with your favourite retailer you can do so by going through this site and order goods as you usually would. What a very simple but effective way of raising funds. (Our vet fees for the last two months have been almost £5,000 so you can understand, why now, more than ever, we need your support) - THANK YOU!
PS: please be patient when initially registering as our small branch is registered under the letter "C" and we are over the 2000th odd charity to register beginning with the letter "C". Charities are listed with the letter their name begins with but then it doesn't follow alphabetically as you would suspect, its in an order of when a charity registers, so you have to scroll through to find us!!

Our Branch relies upon volunteers. Local people who share our passion for cats. There are a number of ways you can help - whether you have an occasional hour to spare or can make a regular commitment. Why not help our cats by conducting home checks or by fostering - Please see our volunteering page for details of any specific vacancies. We have many roles that we need volunteers for and if you are interested in anything in particular please send us an email via our "Contact Us" page and we can send you a job description for some standard roles, like Fostering and Home-checking - we are always on the look out for good fosterers and home-checkers.
Maybe you are a creative person who can bake, knit, sew, make crafts - even cat costumes!! - please let us know!!!
Tell your friends about us and our events (see events page for more details). Donate your bric-a-brac or good quality jumble. Run a stall or or help with transport or storage. We always need help with street collections too.
