FREE CAT NEUTERING
We are offering free cat neutering throughout March and April.
Neutering is extremely beneficial to the well-being of male and female cats, making them more contented pets, less likely to roam, fight and pick up injuries and diseases. And it prevents pregnancies and litters of unwanted kittens. It is a myth that female cats should have a litter of kittens before being neutered - pregnancy can be difficult and harrowing for very young cats. Most vets will neuter kittens from four months of age.

Neutering of our animals is the only way to put a stop to the many abandoned and stray cats we see on our streets. It is the only way forward with helping to eliminate this problem. There are so many unwanted cats and kittens in rescue organisations up and down the country, why bring more into the world?? There's no reason for it and the responsibility of neutering a cat rests with the owner - it's what responsible pet ownership is about and we are here to help!
Every cat that we home (apart from young kittens) is neutered by us.

Other reasons to neuter your cat:
- He or she will be less territorial and so less likely to get into fights. Life threatening diseases such as Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV) can be transmitted through bites and scratches - neutering can thus help reduce the risks.
- From six months, a kitten can have three litters of six a year – that’s 18 kittens.
- There is no benefit at all from having a litter firs.
- Neutered cats will stay close to home and be a more friendly and attentive pet.
- Owing to all of the above, your cat will probably live longer too.

We are very proud that that on average our small branch neuters nearly 100 cats in the local area. Not bad for a small branch.
