What we do

The National Cat Adoption Centre is the largest cat rehoming centre in the UK. We find new homes for over a thousand cats and kittens every year.

Our core aims are:

Homing - finding good homes for cats in need
Neutering - supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats
Education - improving people's understanding of cats and their care through education and advice

Our flagship centre has 202 cat pens and we even have an onsite veterinary clinic (not open to the public) where cats are treated for ailments before homing. All our cats are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked before homing.

We are located within the National Cat Centre complex which is the head office of the charity, Cats Protection. Set in a stunning location in the Ashdown Forest, the site also features a Visitor Centre containing a cafe, shop and conference facilities. Visitors are welcome to wander round our beautiful and extensive grounds, where a flock of Hebridean sheep grazes.

We also organise a range of activities including:

  • School talks and group visits
  • Birthday parties
  • Open days and events
