Support us

Newbury branch has to find over £110,000 a year to fund the work of the Adoption Centre. If you wish to support us there are many ways in which you could help.

Volunteer

We always need help in organising and helping at fund raising events. These events are vital to our survival. If you are interested please ring the AdoptionCentre on 01635 200 111 or email us at newbury@cats.org.uk for further details.

Become a branch member

For £5/year or £3/year for senior citizens and junior members you can become a branch member. You will be joining a large group of enthusiastic supporters and we will keep you up to date with events and stories with our regular local magazine, Cat Flap. Please ring the Adoption Centre on 01635 200 111 or email us at newbury@cats.org.uk for further details.

Sponsor a Cat Pen

For a monthly donantion of any amount from as little as £5.00 a month, paid by standing order, you can sponsor one of our cat pens. In return you will receive;

  • A sponsorship certificate
  • Quarterly newsletters
  • A plaque on your pen showing either your name, a nominated persons name, or that of a beloved cat

Please ring the AdoptionCentre on 01635 200111 or email us at newbury@cats.org.uk for further details.

Sponsor a Resident Cat

For a variety of reason we are occasionally unable to re-home a cat. If this happens we give them the freedom of our extensive grounds and they become residents. We have three residents cats who would love you to sponsor them;

Jimmy - Has a very rare skin condition called plasma cell dermatitis, which causes the pads on his paws and his nose to swell. Hence the name Jimmy, after Jimmy Durante. Jimmy even stared on the front cover a veterinary magazine containg an article about his condition.

Parky - Came to us as a feral cat from Greenham industrial estate. He used to terrorise the staff when they tried to clean his pen and so he was released into the grounds here at Heatherpine. For nearly eighteen months all that was seen of him were occasional glimpses until one day he befriended 'Paddy' another resident and decided that he did like people after all! His confidence has grown rapidly and he is now a firm fixture in the office greeting visitors.

Pippin - Came to us in 2004, when her owners couldn't cope with her bad temper, they had taken to keeping her indoors because they were worried for the safety of the children next door!  We ourselves found her to be so fiesty that we invited her to live at Heatherpine, where she grumbles and snarls her way around the grounds and office!
Please ring the Adoption Centre on 01635 200111 or email us at newbury@cats.org.uk for further details.

Please note - We also collect used stamps, silver foil and mobile phones which we use to raise funds.
