What we do

Formed in 1998, the branch has been assisting cats in the area for over a decade, covering the area from Dreghorn to Skelmorlie.

We have 16 cat cabins dotted about North Ayrshire and these cabins form the temporary homes for the rescued cats and kittens in our care and all are fostered by volunteers until they are ready for their new homes.

During this time we have rescued and rehomed over 5,000 cats. In 2019 we assisted over 1,200 cats through vet care, feral work and rescue and rehoming.

We never put a healthy cat to sleep and believe that there is a new loving home for each and every cat in our care.

We fund raise regularly throughout the year in order to have enough funds to continue running the branch as the running costs for the branch are in excess of £50,000 year. Donations to the branch are always very much appreciated.

Our branch is ran solely by volunteers who give up their own free time to help the needy cats and kittens in the area. Some cats come into the branch needing more than food and shelter. Lots of time, love and care can help cats recover from their past and move onto a better chance in life.

If you would like to help the branch by giving a cat or kitten a new home, sponsoring a cat cabin, giving a donation or volunteering please contact us on 0345 371 421 or email us at enquiries@northayrshire.cats.org.uk
