This is an annual event and it is not easy to obtain a stall, as it is
so popular. Our Fundraising officer Edith had to submit photos of other
stalls that we have had as the standard has to be high and a large
number of goods for sale must be handmade craft items made in Sheffield.
These items included knitted toys, children,s clothes, aprons, cross
stitch cards, shopping and gift bags, a patch work quilt, jewellery and
home made jams and marmalades, all made by our volunteers and supporters.
We were also permitted to sell Cats Protection cat themed goods, pens,
keyrings, mouse mats, calendars, Christmas cards and much much more. Our
ever popular Tombola was also allowed as long as they were good quality
items, nicely presented.
How did we fit all of this into our
permitted space of 6 ft x 8ft?, well John, our Welfare Officer who is
Ediths husband came up with this brilliant idea of making a backdrop
frame with panels made to look like windows on which we could hang or
hook on a lot of our craft items .
It looked brilliant!
He also made a carousel to display pens, fridge magnets and key rings, and an elevated stand for the jams and marmalade.
So how much did we raise
£1192.50 How good is that ? Well it is the most we have raised with a stall at a single event.
All of our volunteers helping on the stall had to wear Victorian
costume( John's bowler hat was a little large but his ears kept it in
place). Massive thanks to John and Edith who organised the whole thing
and to Judith, Charlotte, Joan, Kathy and Louise who helped on the
stall.
We have been advised by the show organisers that there were 100 stalls
and 15,000 people visited the event, a successful weekend indeed!
