Adopt a cat

Nationally, Cats Protection rehomes around 60,000 cats and kittens every year. Here in the Shetland branch we are always seeking new homes for the cats and kittens in our care.

This gallery contains cats currently ready to be homed. If you think you've found your perfect partner and can offer a lifetime of love, please contact us.

When we have someone interested in homing a cat, we first arrange a home visit to check that everything will suit their new cat. Since we are staffed wholly by volunteers, this can't always be done at once. Please bear with us; we know that people are anxious to give a cat a new home as soon as possible, and that is also our aim, but we must make the necessary checks for its welfare. In fact, one of the best ways you can help our work is to volunteer as a homechecker!

You may also wish to look at our Features page Home to Home, where you will see cats still in their own homes, but whose owners need to rehome them. CP acts as an introduction service in these cases; if you think you can offer one of these cats a home, please contact the owner direct.
