Your prospective cat will have received the very best standard of love and care whilst they were with us, so when you adopt one of the cats in our care, you can feel safe in the knowledge that he has been given the best possible start to life
Our cats receive full medical treatment and general health support, along with the added bonus of being fostered on a one-to-one basis, so you can be sure that the cat or kitten you are considering adopting is happy and healthy
By the time your cat is ready for homing he will have been:
- Fully examined by a veterinary surgeon
- Vaccinated at least once against flu and enteritis
- Treated against fleas, tapeworm and roundworm
- Neutered if old enough
- Microchipped
- He will also come with four weeks Petplan insurance cover, which you may choose to continue, giving invaluable peace of mind and reassurance as you and your cat embark on this lifelong friendship
While the love and attention they get comes free, other aspects such as veterinary treatment, neutering and microchipping has to be paid for; that is why we ask all our adopters for a fee - it allows us to carry on
helping more cats that need our help
Adoption process
Our adoption process is very straighforward and we aim to settle our cats into their new homes as quickly as possible. We are also still here for any advice or guidance that may be needed after a cat has been homed. We do not just "home and forget", they are all important to us
Our main concern is that the cat is going to be loved and have a safe home for life
Because we feel it is very important to match the right cat to their right owner, and your specific circumstances will not suit every cat, everyone offering a home to one of our cats or kittens will receive a home visit from one of our team. They will meet with you to complete the relevant peperwork and will be able to answer any questions you may have
Cats Protection takes time to assess each individual cat. Where information is available from the previous home, important details such as temperament, experience with dogs and other cats and people, will help ensure you choose the right cat to suit your needs and personal situation
Did you know that owning a cat has proven benefits?
Cat owners are less likely to suffer from stress, are known to relax more and have greater life satisfaction. Recent studies have shown that not only can cats keep their owners feeling young and active, but also learning how to care for a cat can do wonders for a child's self esteem, social skills and sense of responsibility to others. For many owners their cat is an integral member of the family, inspiring feelings and peace, joy and happiness and providing fun and laughter. They make your house a home
When adopting one of our cats you're giving him a second chance of happiness and what you'll get back is far more than just love and affection
