What we do

The Stockport Branch of the Cats Protection is just one of over two hundred and fifty branches of the Cats Protection around the UK. All these branches are run by voluntary unpaid staff, with one thing in common - we all love cats.

We have a small dedicated team of volunteers whose aims are to:- Rescue, rehabilitate and re-home cats and kittens (who for various reasons find themselves in need of our help).

We provide information to the public on the care of cats and kittens.

Encourage the neutering of all cats and kittens.

So what areas do we cover? Stockport and surrounding areas, as beyond Stockport we are severely limited by our resources: people, time and money. However we can provide neutering vouchers for Wythenshawe amongst other areas, so please get in touch if you are needing help with neutering.

Please note we are not an emergency rescue and can take up to 5 days to respond to enquiries.

If you have an emergency please contact your local RSPCA or 24 hour vets.

The RSPCA National line for emergencies is 0300 1234 999

Stockport Cats Protection actively welcomes any volunteers who would like to help the Branch in any capacity. If you can spare a few hours a month to help your local branch please get in touch.

We really do need all the help we can get - YOUR efforts could make a big difference to giving our local cats a better life.
