Black Cat Awareness

Black Cat Awareness

Black cats are often overlooked by would-be adopters and many of them remain in our care for longer than others. This is why Cats Protection held Black Cat Awareness Day on 27 October 2011.

Our mascot, Billy Noir-Mates, also had great reason to be cheerful; in just 24 hours, he gained over 1,600 fans on his Facebook page. Perhaps best of all from an awareness point of view, our hashtag #CPBlackCats ended up in the top ten trends on Twitter. At one point, it was the third most talked-about subject on Twitter among UK users!

This is all entirely thanks to your fantastic support. Thank you all so much for joining in our campaign. We could not have done it without you.

Please watch our Black Cat Awareness video by clicking here and please look more closely at the black cats we currently have up for adoption.
