Q. What does Cats Protection do?
A. Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. We rehome and reunite 52,500 cats each year through a nationwide network of 29 adoption centres, one homing centre and over 250 volunteer-run branches. Cats Protection also promotes the benefits of neutering for a happy and healthy pet and produces a wealth of cat care information to encourage responsible pet ownership. We never put a healthy cat to sleep.

Q. What is a branch?
A. A branch is a group of volunteers who give their time, often from their own homes, in order to help Cats Protection to make a difference to as many cats as possible around the country. We have over 250 branches throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Find your local CP now

Q. What are Cats Protection's main aims?
A. Our main objectives are to find homes for cats in need, to promote neutering and to provide information about cats and their care.

Q. Is Cats Protection linked to the Cats Protection League?
A. Cats Protection and the Cats Protection League (CPL) are one and the same organisation. Founded as the CPL in 1927, the charity changed its name to Cats Protection in 1998. Our registered charity number is 203644 (England & Wales) and SC037711 (Scotland). We ask that you use the name Cats Protection when referring to the charity in print or verbally. You can discover more about our history here
