Neutering and how we can help

We encourage the neutering of all cats not required for breeding.  A neutered cat is a healthier cat.
In a period of 5 years, a single female cat can be responsible for 20,000 descendants!

Neutered female cats are:

  • unable to get pregnant and have unwanted litters of kittens
  • less likely to contract diseases such as FIV
  • unable to develop mammary cancer

 Neutered males are:

  • less likely to roam
  • less likely to fight
  • less likely to contract diseases such as FIV
  • less likely to spray

Here at the Wrexham Adoption Centre, we issue neutering vouchers to help with the cost of neutering.  If you are on benefits, tax credits etc we can issue you with a voucher.

The neutering vouchers cover the cost of £20 for a male castrate and £26 for a female spey.  The overall cost varies, so contact your vet for an estimate.

Contact us on 01978 313574 if you would like help getting your cat neutered.
