Adopt a cat

A guide to our homing process

We are keen to help as many cats as possible.  Offering our cats a home will help to free up more space to take in emergency cases.

All of our cats available for homing will be added to our website and will be posted on our social media pages.

If interested in adopting please contact us and we will be happy to talk to you via a phone call.

Our adoption fee is £75 per cat, and £95 for a kitten under 6 months old.

Cat will be neutered (if a kitten, a neutering voucher is included)
Vaccinated
Microchipped
Flea and worm treated
4 weeks free Pet Plan insurance
All necessary veterinary treatment will be given to ensure your new cat or kitten is fit and healthy before adoption.

We’re here to support you not only through the adoption process but as a new cat owner.   You’ll receive a follow-up call or email around three, seven and 14 days after the adoption to check that your cat is settling in well.  You’ll also find plenty of advice on our website at www.cats.org.uk/advice

Here is our quick guide to adopting a cat from Armagh branch:

  • Enquire.  If you’ve found a cat on our website that you’re interested in homing, send an enquiry either through using our form or contact us directly through our Facebook page or email enquiries@armagh.cats.org.uk

  • Reserve your cat.  If you’re found to be a match for your chosen cat, you’ll be contacted via phone or email.  You may be asked for proof of your address and the consent of your landlord (if you live in a rented property)

  • Adopt.  Once we have found a match and have reserved a cat for you, we will let you know.  In this call, you’ll have a chance to discuss everything you need to know about your cat.  You’ll then pay an adoption fee of £75 per cat, and £95 for a kitten under 6 months old, usually by bank transfer.

Be supported.  You will receive a follow-up call or email around three, seven and 21 days after the adoption to check that your new arrival is settled in.
