What we do

Hello, and welcome to the website of the Bedford, Biggleswade and District branch of Cats Protection!

The Branch was founded in 1992 with a membership of around 12 people, but this has grown steadily and we now have more than 200 members. Our motto is "Caring for Cats".

This website is designed to give you an insight into our activities, and to tell you of ways in which you can help us if you wish, so please feel free to take a look around.

Our Activities

Our activities include:

  • rehoming around 200 cats a year;
  • running a trap, neuter and release service for feral cats;
  • promoting neutering;
  • running a lost and found service for cats in our area;
  • offering support and advice to people with cat-related problems.

Area of Activities
We are based in Bedfordshire, approximately 50 miles north of London, although part of our area of operations is in Hertfordshire. We cover the areas defined by postcodes MK40 - MK45 and SG15 - SG19. Major towns in our area include Bedford, Ampthill, Flitwick, Shefford, Sandy and Biggleswade.

Our Philosophy
Cats Protection never euthanises an animal, except on medical grounds based on a veterinary opinion.
