Have you got room for a Rover or Jaguar in your life?
Two black cats that were found living rough in a car production plant in Solihull are in desperate need of a new home, according to Cats Protection.
Rescued from Jaguar Land Rover’s factory last week, the aptly-named mother and kitten duo, Rover and Jaguar, are now in the care of the charity’s Birmingham Adoption Centre in Hollywood.
Currently undergoing their feline MOT, both cats should be ready to find a new home in around two weeks time, and Cats Protection is appealing for potential owners to come forward.
Rover and Jaguar’s story began a fortnight ago when Cats Protection received a call from a contractor working at the plant, and the charity’s staff and volunteers immediately made their way to the site.
Alison Dickenson, Deputy Manager at the Birmingham Adoption Centre said: “The contractor said a black cat and kitten were wandering around the plant at night, but they ran off whenever anyone went near them. Given that the plant is quite large with lots of potential hiding places, tracking them down was going to be no easy task!”
However, Alison, her team and the contractor persevered by setting humane traps and eventually both Rover and Jaguar were caught.
Alison said: “Both cats are doing well and are very loving animals. One-year-old Rover is laid-back and has a purr like a little motor whilst Jaguar is about nine weeks old and races around her pen all day!”
