Litter Louts

A huge THANK YOU also goes out to Sainsbury's supermarket - who, through their massive distribution centre at Hams Hall, continue to kindly donate vast quantities of cat-litter to our Birmingham Adoption Centre, which keeps us topped up while caring for our ever expanding population of kittens.
In the middle of kitten season, our adoption centre is bursting at the seams.  Along with our usual quota of 150-ish adult cats, we also have to accommodate about 150 growing kittens.  With an average of 5 kittens per pen (plus Mum), the space left for amenities can be at a premium.
Making sure that enough cat-litter is available for the entire family, we have to use multiple trays, all of which have to be filled with enough cat-litter to do their job effectively.  Even so, the inquisitive kittens will push, pull, scrape and even eat the cat-litter, distributing it well beyond the edges of its containers.

During this extremely busy period, we use on average about 3 bathtub-fulls of cat-litter every day !

This extraordinary, on-going donation of an essential part of caring for our cats is very gratefully received by all our temporary residents.
