This years Christmas Fayre took place on the 3rd December. We had over 300 people visit the event and a great time was had with all. Santa was very busy in his grotto taking Christmas lists from some very excited children including 2 yr old Theo, who was captivated by the magic of the day.
The Christmas themed stalls were very popular with visitor to the centre especially the freshly baked cakes, Christmas tree lucky dip, guess the weight of the Christmas, bric-a-brac & books. Everyone dug deep in their pockets and £2000 was raised to help care for cats and kitten at the centre.
Sadly only 5 out of the 200 + cats & kittens at the centre found homes on the day including Marley, who is one of a litter of 5 beautiful kittens. Molly Hughes, Deputy Manager said “It was great to see so many people on the day supporting our event, our Christmas Wish is to see more cats and kittens settled in their happy ever after home.
Sue Dobbs Centre Manager said, “It was great to see so many supporters on the day including Suzy Davies AM & Counciller Jeff Tildesley, I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the event and attended on the day, the team and volunteers at the centre and local businesses for their continued support of our events”.
The cats and kittens were on their best behaviour and enjoyed all the fun and excitement of the day and many chose to have a cat nap no doubt dreaming about what Santa is going to bring them for Christmas.
May I take this opportunity to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year
