PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE CONTACTING US!  To report your cat missing please call our line on 07522 921790. If this goes to voice mail please leave a message or send an email CLICK HERE

If you send an email please note the following as it will help us help you to find your cat:
Please make sure you include relevant information as:
Colour, short or long hair.
Any distinguishing marks (there are an awful lot of black and white cats!)
Sex, age, name.
Neutered or entire, microchip, collar with details of colour, etc.
Where lost, date of last sighting.
Name, address, telephone number (land line preferred)
Photograph if you have one.  NB jpeg not a Word file from a poster.  Don’t worry about size – we can resize if necessary. Word files will not work!
Anything that is visually unique about your cat.

Lost cats:
When owners of lost cats phone in, details are taken as above. These details from phone or email are collated and sent out to vets, animal shelters and all the CP organizers in the appropriate area.  In addition owners are often appreciative of someone to talk to, and as most cats are eventually re-united with their owners this can be reassuring.   Advice about advertising and calling your cat can be given. This one call saves you a lot of time and trouble as you will not need to ring round.  We also keep a database of lost and found cats, so if one turns up we may be able to match it.

Found cats:
If you find a cat, you can ring the same number.  We can advertise the cat as above, and we may be able to take it into care.  Please note it might not be possible, room is very restricted. Numbers of other rescues are below – if we cannot help they may be able to.

How to minimize the chance of your cat becoming lost:

Make sure your cat is neutered.  If not they will roam, fight, breed kittens and may pick up fatal diseases.
Get your cat microchipped.  This means instant identification if it is found and unlike a collar it cannot fall off.  Remember to keep the address up to date if you move.  Losing a cat causes great heartache.  The two actions above can minimize this.
Sadly some cats succumb to the road and are killed via road traffic accidents. We are working in conjunction with Canterbury City Council and Serco to collate any information about animals involved in RTAs. Since April 8th, 2009 the City Council has purchased microchip scanners so animals are routinely scanned for chips. It does not help with the loss of a dearly loved cat (or any other animal) but at least it will give you peace of mind and closure.
