So you want to get your furry feline friend neutered? We can help.

If you’re looking for help with the cost of neutering your cat or kitten, you might be able to take advantage of our free neutering scheme. If you live in postcode areas RH1, RH8, RH9, CR3, CR5 or CR6, and are on benefits or struggling to make ends meet, please email neutering@eastsurrey.cats.org.uk for more information or call 0345 371 2739 and leave a message in mailbox 4.

You can also take advantage of the Cats Protection £10 neutering and microchipping scheme, but there's limited vet availability for this at present and you might have to wait a few weeks or even months for an appointment. Here's the link to that scheme: https://www.cats.org.uk/what-we-do/neutering/find-a-vet-new-scheme

We are always happy to talk about cats, discuss their needs and offer advice. Remember - the sooner you get your cat neutered the greater the benefits for the health and welfare of your cat and the welfare of cats in general.

Why Neuter?

  • Neutering of male cats means they are less likely to roam and fight sometimes resulting in serious injury. It also decreases the need to display territorial behaviour such as spraying.
  • Neutering of female cats prevents litters of unwanted kittens and undesirable behaviour such as calling and wailing.
  • It can also greatly reduce the risk of the both sexes contracting serious and sometimes fatal feline diseases such as FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) & FELV (Feline Leukaemia Virus).
  • There are also many other health benefits for the cat and you are less likely to end up with costly vet bills by taking control of the situation and getting your cat neutered sooner rather than later.

Be a responsible owner and help prevent the continued increase in the number of unwanted cats and kittens already searching for loving homes.
