Having a Home visit.
When you are thinking of adopting a cat or have chosen your cat, you will need to have a Home Visit. This can sound a little daunting, but don't worry, we are not looking to see if you have dusted today!.
- The main aim is to match the cat you have chosen to you and your environment.
- Some of our cats live indoors, for instance, so if you live near a particularly busy road, or in a flat with no garden access then one of these cats could be better suited to you.
- We can offer advice and information about cat ownership and in particular discuss the needs of your new pet.
- Discuss how to manage your new arrival, how he may interact with small children who live in your house or visit you.
- Offer advice on introductions to other cats and dogs who may live with you or visit.
- Help you think about your working day and lifestyle- will you be away from home for long periods of time? You can have a cat in your life despite a busy daily schedule.
- We can also offer cat care advice, like, registering with your local vet; pet insurance; neutering; keeping your cat in at night and where to board him if you go away on holiday.
Ask your local branch or adoption centre to make arrangements for us to Home Visit, as soon as possible, so that
both you and your chosen friend do not have to wait too long before you can be together.
