The NCC - travelling

From the north: (via Copthorne, Turners Hill and West Hoathly)

From the north: (via Felbridge)

From the north: (via Copthorne, Turners Hill and West Hoathly)

Pick up the M23 southbound from Junction 7 of the M25.

Exit the M23 at Junction 10, and take the A264 towards Copthorne and East Grinstead.

At the second roundabout you come to take the third exit, the B2028 towards Turners Hill*.

About a mile beyond the village of Turners Hill, you will see a "Y" junction; take the left hand fork onto the road to West Hoathly, Sharpthorne and Forest Row.

Once through the villages of West Hoathly and Sharpthorne, you will enter a wooded section. At the end of this is a large green sign warning about roaming deer and sheep in the Ashdown Forest (40mph zone). About 100 yards beyond this sign is a crossroads. You will have to stop and take the right hand turn towards Wych Cross.

Follow this road until you come to the Wych Cross traffic lights. Turn right to join the A22 southbound. Almost immediately take the first turning on the right towards Chelwood Gate and Lewes (A275).

After approximately one mile of straight road, take a left turn (look out for “New Road Layout” signs and a central waiting island for cars arriving from the south) into the National Cat Centre grounds. (Please note the entrance is not obvious from the road and comes upon you quickly. You will need to drive slowly in order not to miss it).

The entrance road is quite narrow in places and has a speed limit of 10mph. Please observe this speed limit for your own safety and that of other road users. Many thanks.

*Note: you can continue on the A264 to Felbridge, turning right at the lights on to the A22 southbound (please see the Felbridge route for directions from there). However, this route is quite busy at peak times.

From the north: (via Felbridge)

Take the A22 southbound from Junction 6 of the M25. Go straight across all the roundabouts until you reach the lights at Felbridge.

Go straight on at these traffic lights, following the A22 through East Grinstead and Forest Row towards Eastbourne.

At the Wych Cross traffic lights go straight ahead, passing the Roebuck Hotel on your left, then take the first turning on the right (the A275 towards Lewes).

Please observe this speed limit for your own safety and that of the road's residents. Many thanks.
