Scotland is home to one of the UK's
national treasures, the Scottish Wildcat.
These majestic cats are native to the Highlands and
Deeside branch is nestled within one of the natural habitats.
These beautiful creatures are critically endangered and are at risk of cross-breeding with domestic felines. The Highland Wildcat are also at risk from un-vaccinated cats passing on debilitating diseases such as FIV, which they can contract and spread through their species.
Here at Deeside Cats Protection we work closely with conservationists in helping to reduce the risk to these native cats by trapping and neutering ferals, and ensuring domestic cats are vaccinated before being homed with people living in and around the Scottish Wildcats natural habitats.
