Neutering
Having your cat neutered is one of the most important parts of being a responsible pet owner. One un-neutered female cat can be responsible for
20,000 descendents in five years and with around 2.5 million stray cats living in the UK why add to that? And it's not just the females who need neutering, un-neutered males are more likely to roam, fight, spray and contract and spread FIV and FeLV.
Cats Protection recommends neutering your cat from the age of four months but you should speak to your vet and ask their advice about each individual cat.
We can provide financial assistance for owners who are receipt of state benefit to have their cat neutered, if you would like more information please visit our main head office website for more information.
Cats Protection are pleased to be able to announce a brand new neutering campaign for 2014 in the East Midlands area.
Owners living in the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire postcodes can have their cat neutered for only £10 - (this covers routine neutering and any non-neutering costs would need to be covered by the owner).
If you receive a state benefit, are on a low household income or are a full time student or pensioner, you will qualify for help. Please click on the link to find a local vet who has signed up for the scheme and how to apply.
