Cat wandering in the snow gets new home.
Deep snow lay on the ground and it was very cold in late November when drinkers in a pub in Normanton noticed a cat wandering around outside. When the cat was still there the next day they contacted a CP member, who took the cat in. The cat was very friendly and wearing a collar, but all efforts to find her owner proved futile.
Six weeks later the Derby Adoption Centre took the cat in and named her Betty Boop. It didn't take long, though, for Betty's appeal to be noticed by someone wanting a cat and she was reserved for adoption.
