Sadly we have heard about people in our area who are deliberately breeding kittens to sell.  If they can't sell all the litter they later dump them. 

There is only one way to stop this vile trade.  Let everyone know that if they want a cat to come to Cats Protection.  For £50 your cat will have been examined by a vet,  neutered, microchipped, wormed and treated for fleas.  If a kitten comes from us it will be checked by a vet, be wormed and treated for fleas.  We will also pay for neutering when it becomes appropriate.

By the way if someone wants to adopt 2 cats or kittens we would only ask for another £25.

This adoption fee is less than other animal charities and less than the Kitten Farmers are charging.  The fee is considerably less than the costs the branch incurs for each cat. 

We believe that the right home is beyond cost.
