The Friends of Eastbourne Adoption Centre raised £717
when they had their table sale in the Arndale Centre on Saturday 29th
October 2011. “we were trying to raise the profile of Cats Protection as a
whole within the Eastbourne area so that people know where to go to get their
new rescued cat or kitten. Our display board gave information about the
Adoption Centre in Marshfoot Lane,Hailsham and there were some lovely photos of
some of the cats that have been homed. We were also able to give out lots of
car stickers, bookmarks and leaflets to the general public. We sold lots of official Cats Protection
merchandise including cuddly cats, food bowls, pens, pencils, cards and
notepads and xmas cards, diaries and of course cat and kitten calenders.
Our wind machine as always was a huge success and
everyone from little children to the more mature person came up and had a go. Once
you pay your £1 you put your hand in the wind machine and try to grab a ticket,
you can then win either a mouse, kitten
or cat depending on the ticket but a prize every time.
We were manned with volunteers all the way through the
day and I would like to thank you all as you gave up your Saturday to help us
raise funds. Also thank you to the management of the Eastbourne Arndale Centre for
allowing us space to raise some much needed funds for Cats Protection and
hopefully for the cats that come through the Adoption Centre from the
Eastbourne area.” Said spokesperson Vicki Kemp Friends of Eastbourne Adoption
Centre.
