Gracie’s Story.
Gracie came into the Adoption
Centre on 6th January 2011 she was our longest stay cat to date. The
reason for her coming in was because her owner had passed away and when her son
went to clear out her flat he had not been aware that there were four cats
locked in the spare bedroom. All of the cats were fearful of humans so it is
our guess that they may not have been socialised very much. Gracie was the only
one left but because she was white, deaf and extremely timid she had to endure
being overlooked time and time again.
After months of despair on
what was to become of her we had a lady come down to the Adoption Centre,
having seen the website, specifically to look at Gracie. She had worked with
cats in the past and totally understood that Gracie may never become your
average cat. She was quite happy and excepted everything we told her and after
a successful home visit on 21st January 2012 Gracie left Eastbourne Adoption Centre and went to her new home.
Gracie has stopped hiding
under the bed, she is happy to be touched and we had a very excited owner
ringing us up to tell us that Gracie had slept with her on the bed.
It just goes to show that
even though a cat may come into our Adoption Centre with a few problems it is
kindness, love and patience that will help turn that cat around.
