Lots of ways you can help

LIKE cats and want to help them? Spare time on your hands and want to do something rewarding? Then help us to help as many local felines as possible. Read on and please get in touch if you'd like to get involved. Any time or help you can offer will be much appreciated, especially by the cats who need us.

OUR SHELTER: A very rewarding hands-on role is helping at our three-pen shelter at Beresford Capps vet at 159-161 Lee High Road, London SE13 5PF (near the junction with Brandram Road). Please contact Jan on 07772 679854 or at xray126jan@hotmail.com or Jennifer on 07506 505452 or at jennyorme@live.co.uk

OUR SHOP: We always welcome new helpers for shop work (sorting, pricing and serving customers) and to help with the cats we have in a pen there waiting to be adopted. Please also remember us if you have items to donate. For details, contact Jacqui on 020 8859 6009 or jacquitrayfoot301@hotmail.com. The shop at 14 Tudor Parade, Well Hall Road, Eltham, London SE9 6SX, opens 10am to 3.30pm, Monday to Saturday (except Wednesday, when it opens at 1pm to allow for cleaning). We can pick up unwanted items, including reasonably sized furniture - just contact Jennifer on 07506 505452 or at jennyorme@live.co.uk.

CAT FOOD AND LITTER:
Donations are very welcome. We have a collection bin at our shop so just drop them in (see address above).

FOSTERING: This is another very rewarding role looking after cats waiting for homes in a pen in the garden (which we can put up) or a spare room. The branch pays vet bills and for food and cat litter but you supply the TLC! Contact Jan on 07772 679854 or at xray126jan@hotmail.com or Jennifer on 07506 505452 or at jennyorme@live.co.uk

GETTING ACTIVE: We're looking for recruits to help with trapping and rescuing cats. Details from Jan on 07772 679854 or at xray126jan@hotmail.com

NEUTERING CAMPAIGN
This is vital to cut the number of unwanted kittens - 2011 was the worst ever year. The flood of little ones puts a huge strain on our fosterers and finances, and means we can't help as many strays and older cats. The only answer is to neuter, neuter, neuter. We need one or more volunteers to spread the message by organising publicity, liaising with vets and the public, delivering leaflets - whatever it takes. Details from Jan on 07772 679854 or Jennifer at jennyorme@live.co.uk

PAPERWORK: Help with this is also valuable, such as helping compile and edit our quarterly newsletter. Details from Jennifer on 07506 505452 or at jennyorme@live.co.uk

DRIVERS:
Do you have any spare time to help our fosterers without transport or to collect items for our shop? Please contact Jan on 07772 679854 or e-mail xray126jan@hotmail.com

KNITTERS: Toy mice filled with catnip are popular at our shop and help raise funds. Jan on 07772 679854 (e-mail xray126jan@hotmail.com) has patterns, cat nip and all the details. Donations of wool would also be gratefully received at our shop (see address above).
