Are you looking for the purrrfect love this Valentine's Day?
07 February 2017
If you have been thinking about adopting a feline friend, but aren't convinced you have the energy to keep a kitten entertained, then why not consider an older cat who is ready to love you?
There are many advantages to rehoming a more mature cat; you will find their personality is already developed so you will know if they are a good fit for you and your lifestyle. They are likely to be house trained, more street-wise and you shouldn't have to stop them from climbing up the curtains!
Older cats are often content to just relax in your company and be happy to take an afternoon nap. They are independent and like their own space to relax in without constantly demanding your attention. They are calmer, more loving and do not need to be entertained all the time as a kitten does.
By adopting a mature cat you are saving not one but two lives – the cat who comes to live with you and the next one who moves into that foster home.
At Ely and District Cats Protection we currently have several mature cats who are looking for a loving, permanent home. Detailed below are some of the mature cats who are currently in our care.
Cleo
Cleo is a 9 year black and white girl who sadly came to us when her owner died. She's in good health but doesn’t cope particularly well with stress and would love a quiet home where she gets lots of attention. She's an affectionate girl who gets on well with other cats and dogs.
Fidget
Fidget is a sprightly 16 year old tortie girl who came to us after her owner passed away suddenly. She is an affectionate girl but does not like other cats.
Cleo 2
Cleo is a pretty 10 year old shorthaired tortie and white female. This friendly and affectionate cat came into our care when her elderly owners were unable to look after her anymore. Cleo is looking for a lovely indoor home.
