What we do

Like all Cats Protection Branches, our work is primarily to bring into our care stray, unwanted, injured, neglected and any cat that needs our help. This is carried out by our small but dedicated band of volunteers who foster the cats in their own homes.

The main areas we cover are Farnham, Alton, Bordon and Aldershot and the surrounding areas.
It may be that the cats are only with us for a week or two but quite often, particularly if they are injured or ill, they stay with us for a long period of time until they are fit and well, have been microchipped and vaccinated and in the case of a cat over 4 to 6 months old, neutered. They then go on to our homing list for adoption to good homes. Whilst they are with us we need to provide food, litter and pay their vets fees, all of which runs to thousands of pounds a month.

Our other aim is to assist as many people as possible, on benefits and low incomes, to get their cats neutered in an attempt to reduce the number of unwanted kittens being born. All of this costs money, the majority of which we have to raise ourselves.

If you are interested in adopting a cat from us, please feel free to take a look at the profiles of some of the cats we currently have waiting for a new home. Please also check out the important information on adopting a cat from us under Adopt a Cat.

We are always looking for more people to help us in our work, so if you have any spare time that you would like to dedicate to helping the branch in this work, please follow the ‘Volunteering’ page in the top menu. There is also lots more information on the site, so feel free to browse around.
