More about adopting

All of our cats have been neutered (over 4 months old), vaccinated and microchipped.

We carry out home visits prior to homing when any questions or problems can be discussed. All prospective new owners must live in a home situated in a safe area for the cat.
Ferals
From time to time we also have feral cats that need outside homes. Please call if you can offer one of these ferals a home, they deserve a new start in life as well.

Adoption fee
When an adult cat leaves our branch, it will have cost Cats Protection approximately £200. The most expensive costs are for vaccinations, neutering, microchipping and blood testing. Additional costs incurred are for worming, flea treatment, general health check by a veterinary surgeon, along with any further treatment, food, litter etc. Kittens cost almost the same and sometimes more!

Cats Protection asks adopters for a fee when rehoming a cat of £50. If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard so thank you for your decision to rehome a CP cat.
