Responsible Ownership Starts Before Adoption

The Gloucester branch of Cats Protection rescues and rehomes Cats and Kittens within the Gloucester area.  We have seen over the last few years that the Cat population is increasing and this brings with it an increase in the number of Cats and Kittens needing our help.

To help control this we only help Cats and Kittens in our area and believe us there are enough kitty's in Gloucester to keep us busy!  Each branch of Cats Protection has their own area from which they rescue, however, we are not restricted with re-homing and we will happily support other branches with home visits to find a Cat or Kitten the purrrrfect home.

Please make sure you adopt your Cat or Kitten from a reputable place this is highly important, so that you can be reassured that your Cat or Kitten is in first class health.

Gloucester Cats Protection carries out the following to all our Cats and Kittens:

*  Health checked by a qualified Vet.

*  Blood tested for FIV and FELV.

*  Neutered if old enough.

*  At least the first vaccination would have been given.

*  Fleaed and wormed.

*  Micro-chipping.

We also follow the charity standards when it comes to our Cat care.  Only Cats that have come from the same place are fostered together, this eliminates any spread of disease at a time that can be really stressful for them.

We also only foster either a single Cat or a pair of Cats or a Mother and Kittens in each foster space.  This enables them to have lots of space which again will help them settle in quicker.
