Did you know that when an adult cat finds a new home and leaves our care, it will have been thoroughly examined, neutered and treated by the vet (if necessary) and cared for?
Cats Protection policy is to never put a healthy cat to sleep, so we always make sure that the cats that come into our care receive the medical treatment they need.
Our fosterers and other helpers are all volunteers. We raise the money to pay for the care and veterinary treatment of our rescued cats from subscriptions and donations, as well as by running a charity shop.
We ask for a mimimum of £45.00 adoption fee per cat when you collect one of our cats. This goes towards the costs including:
- neutering at £35 and £45
- flea treatment and worming costs at £11
- vaccination costs up to £55
- microchipping at £24
- food and litter at £10 a week.
And cats are often in our care for several weeks. Looking after a tiny kitten can cost just as much, but often more!
Sometimes the cat will have needed other treatment from the vet, which can cost hundreds of pounds so donations are very much appreciated!
