Volunteering

This opportunity is suitable for Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh participants.

This branch is run entirely by volunteers - people like you. Without a posse of reliable and committed volunteers, we couldn't home cats and kittens who through no fault of their own find themselves alone and uncared for, we couldn't provide care to cats that need a bit of rehabilitation and TLC, or visit the homes of people who wish to adopt to ensure that the environment is suitable. We couldn't trap feral cats to neuter them and prevent unwanted kittens. We couldn't provide information or education about cat care. And we couldn't publicise what we do or raise the funds to buy food, medicines and supplies.

If you can offer your time in any way we'd be pleased to hear from you. Some of the ways you can help are:

  • Collecting and delivering cats including to/from vets
  • Collecting items for sale at our events, delivering goods to events
  • Helping setting up and during events...stalls, refreshments etc
  • Baking or making crafts for events
  • General administration work involved in running the branch (may be done from home)
  • Keeping computer databases up to date
  • Helping with publicising our work and our fundraising events (distributing leaflets and posters, contacting local press or businesses)
