Lost and Found

Here are a few suggestions on what to do if you have lost your cat:
  1. Ask neighbours to check sheds, garages and outbuildings – if necessary get them to leave a door open for a short period of time.

  2. Go out calling – best time is dusk or dawn when it is quiet.

  3. After 24-48 hrs circulate leaflets (with photo if possible, description, date when last seen including location (not full address) and a contact phone number .

  4. If your cat is microchipped – advise the relevant organisation he/she is registered with.

  5. Contact your own vet and others in the area together with other animal rescue organisations.

  6. Note any empty houses in locality and check with the Estate Agent

  7. If there are schools nearby – check with children, ask the postman and or milk rounds person, dog walkers.

  8. Check with the Environmental Health Dept at your Civic Centre (Refuse Collection – Dog Warden etc).

  9. Some people do contact Police but it is unlikely they will be interested.

If  our cat has got shut in somewhere, providing it is in good health, it can survive without food for maybe 2+ weeks providing there is some kind of moisture to prevent dehydration.

Hopefully, when your cat does come back home, please remember to inform people.
