Sometimes personal circumstances change and owners are faced with the heartbreaking decision of whether to separate from their cats. It is at this time that Cats Protection may be able to help.

If you can no longer care for your cat, the first thing to do is call your local branch or adoption centre. (Phone numbers are available from our website, Yellow Pages or from our Helpline, 08702 099 099.)

If phoning branches during the day, you may have to leave an answer phone message as many of our volunteers are at work. Rest assured your call will be returned and arrangements can then be put in place. Please remember that there can be waiting lists for spaces in pens, so plan early for your cat's future.

Please think very carefully before signing your cat into our care. Once the decision has been made and the cat rehomed no details of the new owners can be released.
