Celebrity Paws artwork now on sale!

05 December 2012

Original celebrity artworks are now on sale as Cats Protection holds its annual Celebrity Paws auction on eBay to raise money for unwanted felines.

The auction ends on Sunday 9 December, so bidders still have time to grab a bargain in time for Christmas.

The charity has received some wonderful contributions from acting legend Dame Maggie Smith, fashion expert Gok Wan and star of The Real Hustle Jessica-Jane Clement to name but a few, after it asked selected artists, illustrators and celebrities to draw around their hand, sign it and style it in their own unique way.

Now in its sixth year, Cats Protection’s Celebrity Paws Auction raises much needed funds for the charity, which helps over 235,000 cats and kittens each year. The auction attracts a host of celebrities and illustrators who are keen to lend a hand to help Cats Protection continue its vital feline welfare work in the UK.

Jessica Jane-Clement said: “I’m supporting Celebrity Paws because cats have always been a huge part of my life. My mum and dad used to foster them so I grew up with lots of cats in the house and I loved them all! I'm hugely sentimental about cats and always have been.”

Kate Bunting, spokesperson for Cats Protection said: “We’re so grateful for the wonderful drawings these busy celebrities have kindly contributed. Each one is unique and would make really unusual Christmas presents.”

In previous years, other well known faces who took part include musician Phil Collins, actress Joanna Lumley, artist Tracey Emin and Prime Minister David Cameron.
