Cats Protection Inverclyde is run by a dedicated very small team of UNPAID volunteers. We work extremely hard for the charity by giving as much time and effort as we possibly can, however we do have other jobs and commitments and therefore it is not always possible for us to get back to you immediately - as we also have a life outwith the branch!
Our telephone line is not manned as we are often out collecting/delivering cats, doing home visits and vet runs and some of us also foster cats in our own home which require attention and care, so it can take a day or two for us to get back to you.
We are exceptionally busy at the weekends and often are unable to return calls during this time. Also, If you do not leave a message with your contact details, then we cannot call you back!
Perhaps you could lend a hand by volunteering to man our phones and help us return calls?
Our branch if very often full to capacity and we have a waiting list for cats to come into our care, perhaps you could be a fosterer? The more fosterers we have the more cats we can care for.

When you buy from a private dealer, ad or gumtree, you are getting a cat that has had no medical care at all! The money you pay goes into the sellers pocket and not on the healthcare of the cat! You do not know if your cat is healthy, if it has picked up an infectious disease or inherited ill health from its mother!!
At best it will cost you around £160 to have the cat fully health checked to the standards we apply. At worst your cat could be carrying disease or inherited ill health and could cost you thousands of pounds on ongoing medical care, not to mention the fact that it could be infecting every other cat it comes into contact with if it is carrying one of the fatal feline infectious diseases.
THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING FROM A PRIVATE AD OR DEALER!
DO YOURSELF AND THE CAT A FAVOUR AND ENSURE YOUR NEW CAT COMES WITH A FULL HEALTH CHECK. IF THE PERSON OR DEALER CANNOT PROVIDE PROOF OF A HEALTH CHECK BEING CARRIED OUT; THEN REST ASSURED THE CAT HAS NOT BEEN CHECKED.
