Cat shootings in Chantry

We received the following email from a distressed cat owner on the London Road re Cats being shot with pellet guns:
"On Thurs 16th Feb around 1pm, one of our beloved cats was shot with an air gun pellet and had to be put to sleep that afternoon. We're obviously devastated and have reported it to the police who have been really good, they've done a letter drop in the area and said they'd issue a short media release to appeal for witnesses - most likely in the Evening Star.
However, today our neighbour came to inform us that two other very local cats have been injured, one was poisoned just a little way up the road from us on the London Roadm and also had to be put to sleep and another one was shot like ours close by on Swallow Road. Clearly this is very worrying and we feel its important for local cat owners, especially in the Chantry 'Birds' area, to be made aware that there's somebody out there deliberately doing harm to innocent lives. We have 3 other cats and are scared to let them out right now incase this happens again.
If there is any way you can put this message out, we'd really appreciate it. We know it's unlikely that the offender will be caught and brought to justice but if we can possibly spare anyone else from going through this horrific experience or perhaps somehow deter this sicko from continuing to harm these beautiful creatures we feel it's worth a try"
If you see anything at all suspicious, please call the police immediately.
