Asleep on the job

Remember Larry the Downing Street cat? The four-year-old tabby cat was adopted by the Prime Minister’s staff in February to tackle the rodent problem. Since his arrival, however, he has only caught a few mice and prefers to spend his time sleeping!

It seems that not even a lot of ministers arriving for a meeting could wake him up which meant that some sneaky rodents have been getting past Larry.

Apparently Prime Minister David Cameron even had to throw a fork at a mouse that was spotted during a dinner with cabinet ministers!

Some people have called for Larry to resign his post but a spokesman pointed out that ‘Larry brings a lot of pleasure to a lot of people.’
